A Little Prayer presents a quiet family drama, in which silence explain everything. Written and directed by Angus MacLachlan, the movie shares DNA with MacLachlan's earlier film Junebug. David Strathairn plays a family head, worried about his son's affairs, and more worried about his daughter in law played by Jane Levy. The two share an emotional bond as recognizing each other's burdens. A find cast includes Celia Weston as the family matriarch and Will Pullen as a troubled son. On watching A Little Prayer I returned home and downloaded a screening of Junebug. These two movies are the real deal in a cineplex full of remakes and superheros.
