Weapons - THEATERS - 3 Stars - August 8, 2025

WEAPONS turns chilling right from the start.  A group of elementary school kids run out of their homes simultaneously, arms outstretched.  They vanish into the night.  The town turns quikly to a witch-hunt, starting with teacher Julia Garner.  Soon we learn her one remaining student holds the key to the mystery.  Fellow actors Josh Brolin and Amy Madison add some creepy touches to this tale.  The script unfolds slow and sure and made my palms sweat.  I'm not a fan of horror movies, but this one's right up there with some of the contemporary greats, including Get Out.  That's a compliment from scaredy Cat me.
