Yesterday Review - 3½ Stars
"Yesterday" imagines a world where no one remembers The Beatles, except Himesh Patel, who brings their music to the world and becomes a super star in the process. It's hard to resist this lighter-than-air sci-fi comic romance. Rated PG-13, 3½ stars.
A freak accident cuts electricity to the entire world. Struggling performer/songwriter Himesh Patel, riding home on his bicycle, gets hit by a bus. When he wakes up, no one remembers the Beatles, except him. Reviving their music and taking credit for it, Patel becomes a megastar. Lily James wins our hearts as Himesh's gal pal, longing for a real romance. Kate McKinnon delights as a money-hungry talent manager. Music, romance and quirky story telling make "Yesterday" a most enjoyable time.
