Much Ado About Nothing Review - 3 Stars
Director Joss Whedon took a couple of weeks and reimagined Shakespeare’s comedy of love filming it in his modern day upper class L.A. home. The result, shot in beautiful black and white, brings Shakespeare’s words to life. Whedon is best known as the man who assembled “The Avengers”—last summer’s blockbuster of the year. He proves he knows his way around the small independent, especially showcasing Nathan Fillion as a court investigator, and Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof as objects of affection. “Much Ado About Nothing” creatively reimagines a Shakespeare classic. Does it deliver what it promises? A good looking modernized version of a classic. Is it entertaining? Fun and funny. Is it worth the price of admission? A bargain.
