Zero Dark Thirty Review - 4 Stars

‘Zero Dark Thirty” turns the hunt for Osama bin Laden into a compelling thriller.  Jessica Chastain plays a driven intelligence agent with the single minded goal of finding the enemy terrorist.  Much of the story takes us inside the offices and meetings that define intelligence gathering.  Chastain picks up a clue during a controversial interrogation scene that leads her to the identity of a courier who may have ties to bin Laden.  Over a decade agents are ambushed,  leads go cold, and ultimately Chastain convinces her bosses to make the raid that yields bin Laden.  The recreation of the midnight raid showcases director Kathryn Bigelow’s skill.  You know what’s going to happen and yet your palms sweat and you grip the arm of your seat.   “Zero Dark Thirty” follows Bigelow’s award winning “The Hurt Locker”—a must see movie from one of our time’s most important filmmakers.   Does it deliver what it promises?  Real life thriller.  Is it entertaining?  Compelling.  Is it worth the price of admission?  A must see movie.
