Skyfall Review - 4 Stars
“Skyfall” brings the James Bond series into the twenty first century while staying true to the things that make us love it. Daniel Craig begins the movie atop a speeding freight train pursuing a courier who has stolen the identities of all of the UK’s undercover spies. The segment goes to outrageous lengths leading to the iconic Bond theme music. Javier Bardem puts some sass into the villain, a rogue spy with a grudge against Bond, against Judi Dench as M, and against good guy spies in general. He adds an attractive colleague in Naomie Harris and gets up close and personal with a beautiful Bond girl ensnared by the villain played by French actress Berenice Marelohe. The grand finale takes us to Scotland as it gives us a little more of James backstory. “Skyfall” hits the right notes and makes you remember why you like the series in the first place. Does it deliver what it promises? James Bond enters the twenty first century. Is it entertaining? Very much. Is it worth the price of admission? Fans will love this one.
