The Vow Review - 2.5 Stars

Hey it’s Valentine’s Day and never underestimate the power of a romance!  Based on a true story (sort of I think).  Rachael McAdams — who has starred in many of these romantic gems (including “The Notebook”) falls for Channing Tatum.  One night they stop in the road and think about making love.  Suddenly a truck rear ends them giving her a severe head injury.  when she wakes up, she doesn’t remember her husband.  So he has to win her all over again.  The script soaps things up more than a bit.  Parents Jessica Lange and Sam Neil swoop in to recapture their daughter while her one time boyfriend moves in to win her over.   Slowly but surely things come back together and — well that’s romance for ya isn’t it.  Channing Tatum doesn’t have a lot of gifts as an actor but he makes a fine puppy dog husband.  Rachael McAdams does swell in these kind of romances.  Some will make fun of this, but I suspect wives and girlfriends will love it.  Significant others take notice.  Does it deliver what it promises?  A romance.  Is it entertaining?  Better than expected.  Is it worth the price of admission?  for lovers.
