Big Miracle Review - 2.5 Stars

In 1988, three grey whales got caught under the ice in Alaska. A reporter filed a story that caught a network producer’s attention; and soon the plight of the three whales turned into national news, ultimately capturing the attention of divergent groups including oil companies, the Reagan White House, Greenpeace and other environmental groups. Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski head a cast in a story based on these events. The whale site turns into a camp of journalists, TV satellite dishes, eskimo tribesmen and whale lovers. “Big Miracle” tells its story family friendly style mostly upbeat and easy to take. I left wondering if this could happen today. I doubt it. Does it deliver what it promises? Feel good story, based on truth. Is it entertaining? Easy to watch. Is it worth the price of admission? Nice to watch something that leaves you feeling good.
