Shame Review - 2 Stars

The excellent Michael Fassbender plays a sex addict incapable of love or relationship. His life amps into crisis with the appearance of his sister played by the usually reserved Carey Mulligan. As with most addiction stories, Fassbender has to hit bottom before starting a recovery. “Shame” never flinches in its portrait of this cringe worthy subject. The actors display bravery but the story leaves us without much hope, only deep depression. Does it deliver what it promises? Story of a sex addict but highly unsexy. Is it entertaining? Depressing. Is it worth the price of admission? Powerful in effect but without hope.
